Banjo’s Festive Features: Educational Board Games

Next in our series of Christmas blogs, we are thinking about festive gifts for our little ones that will also help them learn something! There are so many educational games out there – but these are a few of our favourites:

Scrabble Junior

Words and pictures are ideal for younger children. By using the Scrabble tiles to spell out the bright, colourful pictures on the board, your kids will gain confidence with spelling and reading in a fun and friendly way!

Outfoxed!

As you work together to nab the guilty fox, they’ll learn valuable skills such as estimating probability, paying attention to detail and the important role that collaboration plays towards problem-solving! We love this game

Monopoly Junior

The fast-paced trade dealing board game is back but this time, the kids rule the town! Spend your dollars on roller coasters, carousels and more. This game will help with numbers and decision-making.

Connect 4

This classic, simple game will help your little one with problem solving and also support their counting.

Zingo (not Bingo!)

Zingo Bingo is an educational game for kids that teaches image and vocabulary recognition, matching, memory, concentration, and social interaction! It is pretty much like bingo but with pictures and words. So much fun for all the family!

Catan Junior

Young children will love this gift for a Christmas or birthday packed full of adventure! Start with 2 pirate lairs, and then build ships in order to expand your network. Use your resources to build ships, lairs, or to get help from the wise Coco the Parrot. A much simpler version of the classic game Catan.

What’s The Time, Mr Wolf?

This is a fun board game to develop analogue and digital time telling skills with your little one. Players must race their character around the board matching the times to the central clock – but watch out for the hungry wolf!

City of Zombies

Aliens are invading and turning everyone in the city into zombies! You’ll need to use your BRAINS to survive and keep the zombies off the barricade until the rescue plane lands! This is a fabulous game that helps your little ones learn maths skills as well as problem-solving, plus you get to kill zombies! A winner in our eyes.

We hope that this blog has given you even more ideas of festive things to enjoy with the family. Remember to check out our Christmas FilmsFamily Christmas Trips blog, Christmas Books blog and Christmas Gift Guide too for lots of inspiration this Christmas.

Stay festive and FANTASTIC!

Lots of love,
