Bonfire Night: Animal Friendly Fireworks

The 5th of November is always a big occasion across the United Kingdom. Lighting up bonfires, good food and of course watching amazing firework displays or putting on your own backyard fireworks fest!

Here at Banjo HQ we’re looking forward to the festivities but with a conscious mind. As big animal lovers we’re highly aware of the negative impact fireworks have on our pets, be them dogs or cats.

We can all agree the noise that fireworks create is very loud for us humans, now imagine how loud it is for our furry friends. A dog’s sense of hearing is around four times stronger than a human’s, while cats’ sense of hearing is approximately ten times more perceptive! Wow!

So, if you are planning to hold a fireworks party this year we ask you to consider going for silent fireworks options. This will not only help lessen the anxiety of your pets (or the neighbours) but also lessen the impact such loud noises can have on your young children!

What are silent fireworks, you ask?

It should be noted that they still do make noise – they’re not as “silent” as the name would suggest – but they are much more quiet than normal fireworks and pyrotechnics. The noise given off by a quiet firework is comparable to a pop, or a dull thudding sound. That’s because it contains less flash powder than your run-of-the-mill bangers!

Where can I find silent fireworks?

Most of the British supermarkets have silent fireworks in the run-up to Bonfire Night. So, if you have an Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Tesco or Morrisons nearby you’re in luck! They each have their own range of fireworks with the exception of Morrisons which give you the option to order in store.

Your other option of finding silent fireworks is to buy directly from one of the reputable suppliers such as Direct Fireworks.

We hope you enjoy your Bonfire Night celebrations and if you don’t have the time or resources to put on your own fireworks, there are loads of silent firework shows happening all around the country so make sure to check what’s going on near you!

Stay FANTASTIC!

Love,

Team Banjo x
